What can we expect from this episode

Five more groups of sellers are invited by Nigel Havers into the Bidding Room, where they hope to sell their wares to one of the five dealers present.

Maria, a hairstylist, walks in first with the classic barber chair she used to have in her salon back in the ’50s. It’s midcentury in style and practical in use, so it should sell well, but which vendor can she negotiate the best price with?

David then shows up with an eccentric orange phone he picked up at a garage sale. His phone, shaped like an 80s cartoon character, is a collector’s item that is sure to spark interest among sellers.

The next visitors are Angela and Sonia, who bring a rattan stool they hope will sell well. With three potential mid-century buyers eyeing their piece, can Angela make enough to afford the diamond ring of her dreams?

Yan is our fourth best seller with a small but mighty piece of jewellery. Even if his Japanese tin plate toy is tiny, can he get toy collector Adi or eclectic buyer Ian to shell out a lot of cash for it?

Shirley comes in last today with her father’s fascinating walking stick. Shirley is eager to flaunt this item after learning its secret function, but will our vendors be able to figure out what it is and how it works?

JB, Ian, Lauren, Estelle, Lucy, Melissa, Adi Moses, and Jo are today’s dealers.

From the makers of The Repair Shop, comes a new BBC One daytime series, The Bidding Room.

Set in an emporium deep in the Yorkshire countryside, a group of expert dealers will attempt to outbid each other to buy extraordinary items brought in by the public.

Nigel Havers welcomes people with an item they’d like to sell, introducing them to a valuation expert who gives them the specialist information they need to drive a hard bargain. Tooled up with this information, Nigel guides the sellers through to the bidding room, where the five eager dealers square up to spend their money.

The competition will be fierce and the sellers will need to haggle get the best possible price for their item before finally shaking hands and doing a deal.
