One particular incident involves the apprehension of a suspicious van displaying cloned registration plates on the M1 motorway. While one officer detains a runaway suspect on the motorway, multiple units intercept a car believed to be traveling in tandem with the suspicious van. This coordinated effort results in eight arrests and the recovery of stolen goods from a lorry.

Theft from heavy goods vehicles has become one of the fastest-growing crimes, leading officers to take part in Operation Limit—a Bank Holiday road safety campaign aimed at cracking down on drink and drug driving. At the outset of the weekend, officers arrest a trainee truck driver who crashed into his friend’s car. Initially fleeing the scene, both drivers return to inspect their damaged vehicles before police arrive. Roadside drug tests reveal that one driver has tested positive for cannabis, resulting in his arrest and uncertain prospects for his career in truck driving.

Another arrest occurs when officers respond to a report regarding a young drink driver. Initially denying being behind the wheel, he eventually confesses after admitting to consuming shots of rum. A roadside breath test confirms his intoxication.

In another incident involving an intoxicated individual trapped inside his vehicle due to misplaced keys, police are compelled to smash open a window for rescue purposes. This individual is found to have exceeded three times the legal alcohol limit.

Later in the episode, police are forced to close one of Derbyshire’s busiest roads after a lorry collides with a tree on the motorway’s verge. The driver, suffering from a seizure, is in a state of shock and has no recollection of the incident.
