Trapeze (UA 1956, Burt Lancaster, Tony Curtis)
Burt Lancaster revisits the circus acrobatics of his youth as the impaired aerialist who once risked his life and achieved the ‘triple,’ three midair somersaults. Curtis is the son of a former Lancaster colleague who wants to know the secret, and Lollobrigida the tumbler who romances both aerialists to move up on the circus ladder.
Burt Lancaster brings professional expertise to his role as a trapeze artist in Trapeze. A vaudeville and circus acrobat before entering films, Lancaster took pride in doing most of his own stunts until he was in his fifties.
