A&E’s Inmate to Roommate Returns for Season 2, Followed by 60 Days In, May 30 Premiere
A&E’s Inmate to Roommate returns for a second season, promising more drama and conflict as ex-convicts move in with everyday people. The show, which premieres on May 30, will see six former inmates leave prison and live with individuals they’ve never met, despite the challenges and complexities that come with such arrangements.
In the new season there will be challenges and conflicts that arise in these unique living situations. The inmate-roommate pairs struggle to coexist, with two pairs even coming to blows. The former inmates face strict house rules, sobriety tests, parole constraints, and shocking accusations from their new roommates.
One ex-convict expresses his frustration, stating, “I feel like I’m still in jail… When am I going to be free?” These arrangements seem to create a tense and restrictive environment, rather than facilitating a smooth re-entry into society.
60 Days In Returns for Season 9
Also returning to A&E on May 30 is the popular series 60 Days In, which sends participants undercover in jails to expose issues and create positive change. This season, seven participants will go undercover in the Utah County Jail in Spanish Fork, Utah, to address drug and contraband issues and gang activity.
This season introduces a new element: participants will be introduced to each other before entering the facility, allowing them to form a team to more effectively complete their missions. Additionally, a new rule has been enacted, prioritizing participant safety by pulling them out of the program after giving a distress signal.
