Andy and the Band Season 3 Premieres November 13 on CBBC
The hit music-comedy show featuring Andy and his band, the Odd Socks, is making a comeback on CBBC and iPlayer. The new season will consist of twenty exciting episodes, starting on November 13th. This time, Andy and the Band will face their biggest challenge yet: saving Planet Rock. But, as always, things won’t go smoothly for the Odd Socks, leading to plenty of hilarious moments.
Joining the band is their new manager, Emerald, played by teen drumming prodigy Nandi Bushell. This marks Bushell’s first major acting role after gaining fame on the internet. The show will also feature a star-studded lineup of guest appearances from the likes of rock legend Sir Brian May, Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, Lioness Ella Toone, comedy actor Nina Wadia, and TV chef Rustie Lee.
In the third season, Planet Rock is in trouble because Earth lacks genuine rock music. The Godfather of Rock, played by Sir Brian May, realizes that Andy and the Odd Socks may hold the key to saving the situation. He believes that winning the upcoming Battle of the Bands competition could help solve the problem. However, Emerald, his goddaughter, sets off on her own to help the band before he can intervene. Will Emerald be able to guide our heroes to victory in the face of tough competition from sneaky Sandy and the Same Socks? The future of rock hangs in the balance.
Meanwhile, Andy and the Band continue to juggle their family, fans, and friends while dealing with the daily challenges that come their way. From getting trapped in a video game to staging a pretend court case, investigating vegetable theft, and stopping a time-traveling pirate, the Odd Socks find themselves on a series of entertaining musical missions.
Andy Day says: “We’re back with more mayhem, more epic oddsocky tunes, great guest stars and more cheesy puffs for Whiff! This series there is a narrative that runs through all of the episodes which reaches an explosive crescendo at the end when we HAVE to win the Battle of the Bands because the future of rock depends on it! Do we do it? You’ll have to watch and see!”
Nandi Bushell, who rose to prominence after jamming with Lenny Kravitz and appearing on stage with rock royalty The Foo Fighters, says: “I have never performed a speaking acting role before so playing Emerald in Andy and the Band was the perfect first role for me. Working with Brian May was a dream come true! He is genuinely one of the nicest people I have ever met. He let me play his guitar and gave me a few lessons when we were on set and made me feel really special.”
Often compared to the iconic band The Monkees, the energetic and zany musicians known as Andy and the Odd Socks have captured the hearts of audiences young and old since their debut during the pandemic.
Consisting of Andy on vocals, Rio on guitar, Moxy on drums, Blu on bass, and Cousin Mac on keyboard, this band has enthralled crowds at various venues, including Glastonbury, Bestival, and the Eurovision Village in Liverpool. Beyond their musical talents, Andy and the Odd Socks are also champions for important causes like Anti-Bullying Week and Odd Socks Day, promoting inclusivity, respect, and individuality among children.
Executive produced by Tamsin Skan, Jon Turner, and Lucy Pryke, the show is produced by Ninja Pig Productions for the BBC.
