Aussie Truck Rehab Premieres May 17 on Discovery Australia

Aussie Truck Rehab, Australia’s newest truck show, debuts on Discovery on May 17 at 8:30 p.m. AEST.

Jon Kelly, a specialist in large trucks, and his crew of restoration experts had a vision to create the best truck rehab company in the world. The team’s mission is to restore some of Australia’s most cherished but battered vintage pickups.

Jon is supported by his crack team of high-energy rehabilitation experts, which includes the likes of the aforementioned Dave Pattullo (Finance Manager ‘Dollar’), Dave Pancino (Crew Chief ‘Driver’), Marshall Watego (Lead Mechanic), Izaiah Watego (Workshop Assistant), and Jess Edwards (Truck Scout).

The company as a whole undertakes dangerous truck rehabilitation missions, transforming rusting wrecks into heavy hauling steel masterpieces through massive, one-off transformation projects.

Jon Kelly, a truck restoration expert, devotes his life to restoring Australia’s most iconic trucks to their former glory so that they can continue to adorn the country’s highways. A third-generation truck fanatic, he is meticulously restoring the classic trucks that captivated him as a child.

This unrelenting dedication to detail is what keeps his truck restoration company, Heavy Haulage Assets, going strong. “I’ve yet to find a bucket of bolts lying in a paddock that we can’t turn into treasure,” Jon said.

By restoring elite, historic trucks from the 1970s, 1980s, and beyond, Jon hopes to transform his company into the best in the world. Many of these veterans of the road have fallen into disrepair, collecting dust in rural barns or rotting away in the shadows of busy truck yards despite having logged millions of kilometres.
