During her visit, Heather stumbles upon a restored picture house that has become a haven for world-class acts. She speaks with Brett Haylock and Chris Chen, who left their international careers to create a piece of 1950s nostalgia in the heart of paradise. Their dedication has not only brought entertainment to the town but also helps to preserve the town’s unique character.

Brunswick Heads has also become a safe haven for Andy Graeme-Cook, a former marine biologist who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Despite his challenges, Andy finds accessibility and inclusivity in Brunswick Heads. He has worked tirelessly to make the town more accessible and has played a significant role in providing disability access to the stunning local beaches.

Heather’s exploration of Brunswick Heads also leads her to a trail of hidden fairy houses. She meets Ollie Heathwood, affectionately known as the ‘Fairy Grandmother,’ who has created 27 enchanting fairy homes. This magical touch adds a whimsical element to the town and brings joy to both locals and visitors.

Heather also meets with long-time locals who have been camping at the beach with their families for five generations. This time-honored tradition is cherished by thousands of families across Australia and reflects the enduring connection between Brunswick Heads and its residents.
