CBS Announce “Young Sheldon” Series Finale Will Premiere May 16

CBS has announced that the critically acclaimed comedy series “Young Sheldon” will air its one-hour series finale on Thursday, May 16. The show, which is currently the #1 comedy on television, will conclude after its upcoming seventh season. The new season is set to premiere on Thursday, February 15.

CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach praised the show for its remarkable cast and heartfelt stories that have drawn in audiences. She thanked the executive producers and the entire writing and producing teams for six wonderful seasons and expressed excitement for the final season.

The executive producers of the show, Steve Holland, Steven Molaro, and Chuck Lorre, expressed gratitude to the fans for embracing the story of the Cooper family and announced their excitement to share the final season with viewers.

“Young Sheldon” is a prequel to the popular comedy series “The Big Bang Theory” and centers around the childhood of Sheldon Cooper, a genius with advanced mathematical and scientific abilities. The show follows Sheldon’s journey as he navigates the world while his normal family tries to deal with him.

The show has been a consistent ratings winner, becoming the #1 new comedy in the 2017-2018 season and the #1 comedy in the 2019-2020 season after “The Big Bang Theory” ended. It continues to be the #1 comedy for the 2022-2023 season, attracting a large viewership of 11 million in L+35 and streaming on Paramount+ and CBS TVE.

“Young Sheldon” stars Iain Armitage, Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Annie Potts, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, and Jim Parsons as the voice of Sheldon. The show is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Paramount+ subscribers will have access to stream the show live via the live feed of their local CBS affiliate on the service, as well as on demand.
