Kristen Stewart in Spencer Aus Premiere Fri 18 Feb on Amazon Prime
The film Spencer, directed by Pablo Larran, will be accessible to Prime Video members in Australia and New Zealand to stream this week.
Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ marriage has been dormant for a long time. Despite rumours of extramarital romances and a divorce, the Christmas celebrations at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate are set to be peaceful. There’s shooting and hunting, as well as eating and drinking.
Diana is well-versed in the game. This year, however, things will be very different. Spencer is a fictitious account of what might have occurred during those dreadful days.
After making its world premiere in competition at Venice International Film Festival 2021, Spencer was selected to screen at a slew of leading international film festivals including Telluride Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival and BFI London Film Festival.
For her portrayal of Princess Diana, Kristen Stewart has been nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards and Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.
Alongside Stewart, Spencer stars Timothy Spall, Jack Farthing, Sean Harris and Sally Hawkins.
Directed by Pablo Larraín and written by Steven Knight, Spencer is produced by Juan de Dios Larraín, Jonas Dornbach, Paul Webster, Larraín, Janine Jackowski and Maren Ade.
