Naked and Afraid XL Returns May 12: Survivalists Face the Colombian Badlands

Discovery Channel’s popular survival series, Naked and Afraid XL, is back with a new season, premiering on Sunday, May 12, at 8 pm ET/PT. This season, 12 brave survivalists, who have successfully completed the standard 21-day challenge, will test their limits in a grueling 40-day survival quest in Colombia.

The upcoming season, dubbed “Proving Grounds,” will push the participants to their extremes as they confront blood-sucking insects, dangerous wildlife, and harsh environmental conditions. They will also face the challenge of traversing six unique terrains to reach their final destination.

The survivalists, stripped of clothing, food, and water, will rely solely on their skills and resourcefulness to endure the elements. They will have to hunt, trap, and gather their food, build shelters, and navigate treacherous landscapes.

Among the survivalists taking on this daunting challenge are Adam Kavanagh from Queensland, AU, Andrew Shayde from Lexington, KY, and Chris Wells from Alberta, CA. Each participant brings their unique expertise and resilience to the table.

Naked and Afraid XL is a spin-off of the original series, Naked and Afraid, which debuted in 2013. The XL edition amps up the intensity by extending the duration and bringing together multiple survivalists to form a supergroup.
