Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2023: Winners Announced
The winners of the 2023 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards have been announced. The awards were presented on March 4, 2023, and broadcast live on Nickelodeon. Winners included familiar names and rising stars across categories like music, movies, and television.
In the television category, “The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder” was awarded the favorite kids’ TV show, while “Wednesday” acquired the favorite family TV show title. “MasterChef Junior” was named the favorite reality show, while the favorite animated show was “SpongeBob SquarePants“.
Olivia Rodrigo took home the favorite female TV star award in the kids’ category for her performance in “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” as Nini, while Joshua Bassett won the favorite male TV star award in the same category for his portrayal of Ricky in the same show. Jenna Ortega was named the favorite female TV star in the family category for her role as Wednesday Addams in “Wednesday“, while Finn Wolfhard bagged the favorite male TV star award in the same category for his performance as Mike Wheeler in “Stranger Things“.
In the film category, “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” won the favorite movie award, and Milie Bobby Brown won the favorite movie actress award for her portrayal in “Enola Holmes” and “Enola Holmes 2“. Dwayne Johnson won the favorite movie actor award for his work in “Black Adam“. “Minions: The Rise of Gru” was named the favorite animated movie. Selena Gomez and Dwayne Johnson took home the favorite voice from an animated movie in the female and male categories for “Hotel Transylvania: Transformania” and “DC League of Super-Pets” respectively.
In music categories, Taylor Swift won two awards – one for the favorite album for “Midnights (3am Edition)” and the other for the favorite female artist. Harry Styles was named the favorite male artist, and BTS won the favorite music group award. “As It Was” by Harry Styles bagged the favorite song award, while Dove Cameron was named the favorite breakout artist. Bella Poarch took home the favorite social music star award, while Harry Styles was named the favorite global music star. In the favorite music collaboration category, “Sweetest Pie” by Megan Thee Stallion and Dua Lipa won.
Savannah Clarke, who is part of the pop group Now United, received the “Aussie/Kiwi Legend of the Year” award for her contribution to the music industry.
Other categories include favorite female and male creators, favorite social media family, favorite female and male sports stars, favorite video game, favorite celebrity pet, and favorite book.
The event was marked by several engaging performances, including Lil Baby performing “California Breeze”, a drum-off with Lil Uzi Vert, and Justin Wilson II and a special King of Comedy Silver Blimp given to Adam Sandler. The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Optimus Prime of Transformers fame.
The awards ceremony also featured exclusive teasers of upcoming movies and appearances by several celebrities including Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, with cast members Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez.
