“The Morning Show” Season 4 Renewal from Apple
Apple TV+ has renewed its international smash hit “The Morning Show” for a fourth season, the company announced today. The highly anticipated third season of the critically acclaimed drama, which has won Emmy, SAG, and Critics’ Choice Awards and been met with acclaim around the world, will premiere this fall.
Directed and executive produced by Mimi Leder, with Charlotte Stoudt serving as showrunner and executive producer for Season 3, “The Morning Show” stars Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, who also serve as executive producers. Media Res, Hello Sunshine, and Echo Films are responsible for creating the series.
What’s happened in the series so far
Season two of “The Morning Show” picked up where season one left off, with the team recovering from the fallout of Alex (Aniston) and Bradley’s (Witherspoon) actions and adjusting to a new UBA and a world in flux, where identity is everything and the gap between who we present as and who we really are is a factor. Among the stellar supporting cast for Season 2 were Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Bel Powley, Desean Terry, Janina Gavankar, Tom Irwin, and Marcia Gay Harden, in addition to series regulars Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon. The second season also added Greta Lee, Ruairi O’Connor, Hasan Minhaj, Holland Taylor, Tara Karsian, Valeria Golino, and Julianna Margulies.
Emmy nominations for the second season of “The Morning Show” included roles for Reese Witherspoon as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Billy Crudup as Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Crudup won the award for season one), and Marcia Gay Harden as Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.
Crudup won the Emmy for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and the Critics’ Choice Award for his performance as Corey Ellison in the first season. Aniston won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series for her role as Alex Levy. The series was also up for a TV Choice Award for Best New Drama and a Television Critics Association award for Outstanding New Program.
