Case, The (BBC-1 1972, Cliff Richard, Olivia Newton-John)
Hybrid comedy musical The Case saw Cliff Richard pretty much playing himself and getting involved with a pair of crooks when he accidentally picks up the wrong suitcase at a railway station. The case Cliff grabs contains the proceeds of a bank robbery.
Crossing to Scandinavia he meets Olivia Newton-John on board a ferry and the pair manage to find time to duet (Olivia also sings a couple of songs solo).
In total there were eight songs in this curio that has achieved cult status.
The film takes place on a ferry and in Sweden, Norway and Finland and was a Co-Production between the BBC and SR, NRK and YLE.
