“A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder”: A Thrilling YA Adaptation by BBC and Netflix
BBC and Netflix are joining forces to bring “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder,” a thrilling YA adaptation, to screens worldwide. The six-episode series is currently in post-production, adapted by Poppy Cogan and directed by Dolly Wells, and promises a gripping mystery filled with suspense.
The series is based on the New York Times bestselling YA novel of the same name by Holly Jackson. It centers around the character of Pip Fitz-Amobi (played by Emma Myers), a brilliant young woman who investigates the murder of a local schoolgirl, Andie Bell, by her boyfriend, Sal Singh. Five years after the case is closed, Pip isn’t convinced of Sal’s guilt and sets out to uncover the truth.
The talented cast includes Zain Iqbal as Ravi Singh, Anna Maxwell Martin, Gary Beadle, Mathew Baynton, India Lillie Davies as Andie Bell and Rahul Pattni as Sal Singh. The series is produced by Moonage Pictures, one of BBC Studios’ invested production labels, and co-produced with ZDFneo and Netflix.
The show will first premiere in the UK on BBC Three and iPlayer, with Netflix releasing it later in the US and other territories, excluding the UK, Ireland, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand. The release date for the UK has been announced as July 2024, while the US release date is yet to be confirmed.
“A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” has generated buzz and anticipation among fans of the novel and mystery enthusiasts alike. With a compelling premise, a diverse cast, and a talented creative team, the series is expected to captivate audiences and keep them guessing until the very end.
