Master Of The Moor (ITV 1994, Colin Firth, Robert Urquhart)

Thriller serial. When a serial killer appears to be loose on Dartmoor carpenter Stephen Whalby, who spends more time on the moor that at home (and has an unconsummated marriage to prove it) is prime suspect.

This was an entertaining enough entry in The Ruth Rendell Mysteries that at times was on the verge of being spoiled by some over acting by George Costigan who played Detective Inspector Manciple with slicked back hair and long black overcoat so he came across more like Herr Flick from Allo Allo than a copper.
