What is this episode about
Three cars are involved in an accident in north Kent, and paramedic Mark and police officer Ben respond to the scene. An argument breaks out over who was at fault after one driver suffers a head injury. Ben discovers that a nearby resident has a security camera pointed in the direction of the crash site, which may prove to be an invaluable resource for the police.
Special constable trainee Jon is on duty with another JRU team; he needs to make two arrests before he can graduate. A traffic officer has been assaulted and needs emergency medical treatment, so they are dispatched to the scene. Nearby police officers apprehend the attacker, but he refuses to surrender peacefully, so Martyn must activate a police distress call to summon immediate reinforcements.
When a three-car accident occurs on a highway in Chatham, paramedic Mark, police officer Ben, and special constable James all rush to the scene. The driver of the middle car in the accident has a preexisting spinal condition and must be treated with extreme caution after suffering a back injury in the collision. He was trapped in his car and had to have the fire department break it open to free him.
In Whitstable, Special Inspector Tom and EMT Miles respond to a call about a 15-month-old boy who has fallen unconscious. Miles examines the boy to ascertain the severity of his condition and identify the root cause of the unconsciousness.
Police officer Martyn and EMT Ayshe work together during the night shift in Strood to look into a welfare concern. A caller was concerned about the patient, who had already been seen by paramedics earlier that day. They determine that the patient has COPD and is therefore having difficulty breathing.
