BBC First March 2023 Highlights: Beyond Paradise Premieres 4 March
Detective Inspector Humphrey Goodman and his fiancee, Martha, relocate from London to the coast of Devon in Beyond Paradise, a sequel to the wildly successful Death in Paradise.
Humphrey (Kris Marshall), looking to escape the hectic pace of the city life with his fiancée Martha’s (Sally Bretton) family, takes a job as a Detective Inspector in her village. Humphrey is easily sidetracked by the town’s unusually high crime rate, with a new and extremely different case troubling him and the squad every week, and they quickly learn that rural living is anything but quiet.
In the not-so-quiet town of Shipton Abbott, a family vanishes without a trace, a woman claims she was attacked by a suspect from the seventeenth century, a priceless painting is stolen, a body is found in a crop circle, and a serial arsonist seems to have a particular distaste for local businesses. When Humphrey dives headfirst into his new career, he and Martha must also negotiate the ups and downs of everyday life, including encounters with people from Martha’s past, difficult life choices, and the stresses of relocating to a new place.
Starring: Kris Marshall & Sally Bretton the cast includes Zahra Ahmadi, Dylan Llewellyn, Felicity Montagu amd Nina Singh.
A BBC First Australian premiere, the six part Beyond Paradise premieres 4 March and is also available on Foxtel On Demand and Binge.
