NCIS: Sydney Makes its Free-to-Air Debut on Channel 10, 15 May
NCIS: Sydney is set to make its free-to-air debut on Channel 10 this May. This action-packed military crime drama is the first-ever international spin-off of the hugely successful NCIS franchise. With rising tensions in the Indo-Pacific region, a brilliant but eclectic team of U.S. NCIS agents joins forces with the Australian Federal Police (AFP) to form a multinational task force. Together, they must navigate their differences and learn to trust each other as they tackle complex cases involving American military and naval personnel.
A Stellar Cast Leads the Way
NCIS: Sydney boasts a stellar cast, including talented actors and actresses from Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The team is led by the dynamic duo of NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey, played by Olivia Swann, and her AFP counterpart, Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey, played by Todd Lasance. Swann, known for her roles in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and River Wild, brings depth and nuance to her character. Lasance, a veteran of Australian television with roles in Home and Away and Crownies, delivers a strong performance as the dedicated and tough Dempsey.
The cast is rounded out by a diverse and talented group of actors, including Sean Sagar as NCIS Special Agent DeShawn Jackson. Sagar, a British actor and model, is known for his roles in Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant and Our Girl. Tuuli Narkle, an Australian actress of First Nations and Finnish descent, portrays AFP Liaison Officer Constable Evie Cooper. Narkle won the 2022 AACTA Award for Best Lead Actress in a Television Drama for her performance in Mystery Road: Origin. Mavournee Hazel, an Australian actress from Adelaide, takes on the role of AFP Forensic Scientist Bluebird “Blue” Gleeson. Hazel is known for her roles in popular Australian soaps such as Neighbours and Halifax: Retribution.
The team is completed by William McInnes, who portrays AFP Forensic Pathologist Dr. Roy Penrose. McInnes, a veteran of the Australian film and television industry, is known for his roles in Blue Heelers and SeaChange.
