Bergerac: Snow In Provence (BBC-1 19 Jan 1991, with Louise Lombard)
In Snow In Provence, it’s decision time for Jim, he is over on Jersey to talk about his financial situation. He has a few thousand in savings and a few thousand payout from the Bureau but it is nowhere enough to keep him going. Luckily for him Charlie is on hand to provide him with a job. Back in Provence he wants JIm to babysit the troublesome teenage Calder girls (and the familie’s extensive collection of paintings) at their Chateau whilst Charlie is in Milan with Mr and Mrs Calder to bid on a painting. What Jim hasn’t banked on is the fact that the Calder’s housekeeper is involved with a group of crooks who are planning an elaborate drugs deal at the chateau.
The whole thing turns out to be a plot by the French police to catch Mafia man Paul Bonetti red handed. When Jim almost spoils things by discovering the drugs he agrees to act as a middle man to bring Bonetti but his actions put the lives of both Danielle and Clarissa Calder in danger.
Despite Jim no longer being in the force this a classic slice of Bergerac, Louise Lombard is one of the Calder daughters whilst Natascha Taylor who plays Louise Calder is better known as Natascha McElhone. The lovely Pippa Guard is housekeeper Marion who is out of her depth dealing with Bonetti.
