What is this episode about

The annual awards ceremony hosted by Carol Vorderman and Ashley Banjo celebrates and honours the nation’s unsung heroes, and always includes inspiring tales of bravery, selflessness, and extraordinary fundraising efforts, as well as a few surprises and a few tears. Celebrities like Ant and Dec, David Beckham, Alison Hammond, Michael Sheen, Aitch, Holly Willoughby, Sir Trevor McDonald, Kathrine Ryan, James Arthur, and Kieran Trippier will all be there to honour regular people who have done extraordinary things for their communities.

Awards being given out this year include:

Lifetime Achievement – Recognising far-reaching achievement, possibly on a national or international scale.

Child/Teenager of Courage – For battling against the odds to help others or putting themselves at risk to save someone in danger.

Outstanding Bravery – For adults who risk their own safety to help others in danger.

Special Recognition – Recognising achievements not covered in other categories, such as inspiring carers, campaigners, and members of armed forces.

ITV Fundraiser of the Year – For tireless and inspirational charity fundraising, aged 18 and over.

Good Morning Britain Young Fundraiser of the Year – To reward a young person aged 17 and under for inspirational charity work.

This Morning Emergency Services Award – For police, fire, ambulance, paramedics or air, sea or mountain rescue who have gone beyond the call of duty.

TSB Community Hero – For someone who goes to remarkable lengths to help others lead their best life.
