Location, Location, Location: Episode 5 (S37EP5 Channel 4 Wed 15 June 2022)

In this episode, Kirstie and Phil are in Scotland’s largest city – Glasgow – where it’s a tale as old as time. Two couples whose budgets won’t stretch to what they want and where they want it… a story that never gets old and a problem that never gets any easier to solve.

Kirstie is with Laura and Euan, who have recently returned to their native Glasgow from Sydney. With two young children, they’re happy they made the move to be closer to family, but Euan in particular is missing life down under. They’re hoping Kirstie can find a place that makes Glasgow once again feel like home, but these two are pulled between their desire to be close to the action in the vibrant West End or a bit further out, where their £439,000 budget will get them a lot more house. Kirstie has to try some unusual tactics to show them the place where they’ll feel it was worth moving over 10,000 miles for. Now all she has to do is secure it for them.

Meanwhile, Phil is in the south side of the city with Miriam and David. They sold their first home, hoping to live briefly with David’s parents while they bought their next place. Miriam packed enough for four weeks, but eight months later, they’re still there.

They lay the blame squarely at the feet of the bullish property market, which has seen them outbid on six houses already. With a wide brief, Phil tries everything from city to suburb and from pristine to project – and soon this couple have fallen for a house… except they’ve each fallen for different houses! Can Phil get them to agree before they lose out once again?
