Sue Perkins: Lost in Thailand, 7 May 2024, Channel 5

The comedian embarks on a thrilling adventure through the vibrant landscapes, cultures, and people of Thailand in this three-part series on Channel 5.

Channel 5 presents Sue Perkins: Lost in Thailand, a brand new travel series following comedian and presenter Sue Perkins as she explores the vibrant landscapes, rich cultures, and fascinating people of Thailand. The three-part series premieres on 7 May 2024 at 9 pm.

In this series, Perkins ventures beyond the typical tourist trail, uncovering the country’s natural wonders, embracing its unique culture, and forming meaningful connections with locals. The series promises to offer a blend of stunning visuals, humour, and heartfelt moments as Perkins immerses herself in Thailand’s diverse regions.

The journey begins in Chiang Mai, where Perkins takes on the challenge of abseiling into the depths of a limestone cave, aptly named Crazy Horse Buttress. She then travels to the island of Phuket, where she explores the stunning coral reefs and the last remaining rainforest. Perkins also ventures into the bustling metropolis of Bangkok, experiencing its chaotic charm and venturing into the surrounding subtropical countryside.

Throughout her travels, Perkins encounters extraordinary people and animals. She learns to sing lullabies to recovering elephants at an elephant sanctuary and discovers the secrets of a gibbon ‘love tunnel’. She also tries her hand at unique local activities, including clearing detritus from a coral reef, driving an electric tuk-tuk in a monsoon, and picking coconuts high above the ground.

The series is produced by Coming Up Roses, with Jess Ives serving as producer and Grace Kitto as series editor. It is directed by Jason Holmes and executive produced by Oliver Wright.

Sue Perkins: Lost in Thailand premieres on Channel 5 on 7 May 2024 at 9 pm.
