Episode Summary
We’ve reached the finals of this year’s Portrait Artist of the Year competition after the field of applicants was reduced to the top three. Our contestants will try to apprehend Professor Sir Jonathan van Tam this time.
The British physician most people will recognize is Sir Jonathan, who oversaw health protection during the Coronavirus pandemic while serving as the UK government’s Deputy Chief Medical Officer from 2017 to 2022.
Presenters June Bakewell and Stephen Mangan will watch as our artists honor Sir Jonathan on canvas as our judges choose this year’s Portrait Artist of the Year, who will receive a £10,000 commission to immortalize the one and only Sir Lenny Henry.
