Betty, motivated by her growing power and popularity, leads a White House campaign office to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment, which irritates Jerry’s staff, who are concerned about a conservative challenge for the Republican presidential nomination. Michelle encourages Barack to put his political concerns about losing re-election aside and take a strong moral stand in favour of marriage equality.
