Binge’s “The Twelve” Gets Season 2 Renewal.
Following the introduction of the WA Production Attraction Incentive last year, BINGE and Screenwest have announced that the second season of the critically acclaimed and award-winning series The Twelve has been greenlit for production in Western Australia.
What is The Twelve about
The Twelve is a riveting crime drama that follows a contentious murder trial through the eyes of the jurors, a group of 12 average Australians dealing with their own problems.
After a successful premiere, the first season was nominated for ten awards at the 63rd annual TV Week Logie Awards and took home three, including Best Miniseries and Audience Choice Award. The show has been screened in the UK and other countries.
Sarah Walker, Anchuli Felicia King, Anya Beyersdorf, and Anna Barnes will pen the season’s eight one-hour episodes. Western Australian filmmakers Stevie Cruz-Martin (Safe Home, The Tailings), Ben Young (Hounds of Love, Clickbait), and Mark Joffe (Jack Irish) will serve as directors on the series. The show will be co-produced by Warner Bros. International Production Australia’s Hamish Lewis and Michael Brooks and Easy Tiger’s Ian Collie, Ally Henville, and Rob Gibson.
Who is making the series
The Twelve, commissioned by Brian Walsh (the Foxtel Group) for BINGE and Foxtel. Commissioning Editor Lana Greenhalgh and Consulting Producer Penny Win (the Foxtel Group). The series will be produced by Warner Bros. International Production Australia and Easy Tiger with major production investment from Screenwest and the Western Australian Production Attraction Incentive and will be distributed globally by Fifth Season.
