The line-up for the new season of Celebrity Mastermind has been announced by the BBC, and the show’s new home on BBC One will be Friday nights at 8 o’clock.
BBC host Clive Myrie presides as celebrities brave the intimidating black chair to collect money for a cause close to their hearts. Candidates this year include professional footballer Troy Deeney, singer-songwriter Andrew Roachford, and BBC News reporter Jane Hill, to name just a few.
The first celebrities to be put through the paces are Rosie Jones (comedian), Gemma Bradley (DJ; BBC Radio 1), Dan Gillespie Sells (musician; The Feeling), and Andy Goldstein (broadcaster).
Rosie Jones comments: “I grew up watching Mastermind and it was a complete dream of mine to one day sit in that famous leather chair, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I had a hoot!”
Mrs. Brown’s Boys’ Danny O’Carroll, Drag Race UK’s Cheddar Gorgeous, Coach Trip’s Brendan Sheerin, and comedian Jayde Adams square off in the second episode.
