Father Brown Now Filming Season 11 For BBC One
Filming on the eleventh season of the immensely popular daytime crime thriller Father Brown has begun in the Cotswolds, as announced by BBC Studios.
Sylvester McCoy (Doctor Who, The Hobbit), Ingrid Oliver (Watson and Oliver, Doctor Who), Ian Gelder (Game of Thrones, His Dark Materials), and John Light are among the special stars who join Mark Williams (the crime-busting priest) in this new season.
Sister Boniface, played by Lorna Watson, is also coming back, making this fan-favourite crime-fighting team whole again.
Mark Williams says: “It’s an honour to be returning to Father Brown for an eleventh series of warmth, drama and humour, as well as sleuthing with my partners in crime solving. It’s also always a treat to film in the beautiful Cotswolds.”
In 1955, when Series 11 begins, Chief Inspector Sullivan (Tom Chambers) and Mrs. Devine (Claudie Blakley) have become closer. Neither Father Brown (Mark Williams) nor Brenda (Ruby-May Martinwood) has missed this. .
The gang has a lot to do, what with a murder at a criminal writing festival, a deadly rivalry at the village Olimpicks, and a food fair to die for. While Father Brown and Sister Boniface investigate a murder at an arts and crafts show, Brenda travels through time to confront her demons after receiving a call from an old friend, Dr. McClurgy (Sylvester McCoy). And in other news, Father Brown’s archenemy Flambeau (John Light) is back in town, this time with his estranged father Gabriel (Ian Gelder) and a perilous task in mind…
With an average of 2.3 million viewers per episode, Father Brown’s tenth season was the most watched daytime drama of the year. The BBC daytime drama Father Brown debuted in 2013, and since then has been screened in more than 232 countries and territories.
Father Brown is produced by BBC Studios Continuing Drama Productions Birmingham. The Script Producer is Dawn-Coulson Beckett, the Line Producer is Michelle Brown, the Series Producer is Seán Gleeson and the Executive Producer is Neil Irvine. Helen Munson is the Commissioning Editor for BBC Daytime.
Father Brown series 11 will air on BBC One early next year.
