“Homicide Hunter: The Man with No Face” Premieres March 8 on ID
Final episode of HOMICIDE HUNTER trilogy to feature a decades-long unsolved case.
In the upcoming special episode of HOMICIDE HUNTER titled “The Man with No Face,” Lt. Joe Kenda will take viewers through the challenging case of Mary Lynn Vialpando, who was raped and murdered in 1988.
Despite Kenda’s and his team’s best efforts, the case went cold and remained unsolved for three decades. At the time Kenda was a Sergeant and the Supervisor of the Homicide Unit and had been given the Vialpando case.
However, with the advent of advanced forensic technology, the investigators were able to convict James A. Papol in 2021 after matching his DNA with the semen found on Vialpando’s body.
This special episode showcases the evolution of forensic technology and highlights how Kenda’s thorough investigation and evidence collection played a significant role in solving the case.
“The Man with No Face” will premiere at 9.00pm on March 8 on Investigation Discovery and can be streamed on discovery+.
The special is produced by Jupiter Entertainment for Investigation Discovery.
