“Revealed: Renee Gracie” New Doco Commissioned by Streamer Stan
“Revealed: Renee Gracie,” a new original documentary has been commissioned by Stan.
The all-female creative team led by writers/directors/producer Frances Elliott and Samantha Marlowe.
Revealed: Renee Gracie follows Renee Gracie, the first Australian woman to compete full-time in Supercars in fourteen years, as she tries to re-enter V8 racing after retiring in 2017.
The doco is a powerful example of the obstacles women face when trying to make it in a traditionally male-dominated field like professional motor-racing.
Renee Gracie, a former Go-Karting sensation, made history in 2013 and 2014 when she became the first woman to race in the Australian Porsche Carrera Cup. After two years of amateur V8 Supercar racing, she turned professional and became the first woman to compete full-time in the series in fourteen years.
In 2015, she and Simona De Silvestro entered the Bathurst 12 Hour as the first all-female combo to do so since 1998. Despite her accomplishments and achievements, Renee had a hard time finding her place in a male-dominated industry and retired in 2017.
After turning to OnlyFans to help fund her comeback to racing, Renee quickly became the site’s top earner in Australia.
The Stan Original Documentary Revealed: Renee Gracie is produced by Stan with principal production funding from Screen Australia in association with Stan, Screenwest and Lotterywest. Developed with assistance by Screen Australia.
