Joanna Lumley to Announce UK’s Points at Eurovision 2024
The iconic actor will bring her signature glamour and humour to the role of UK spokesperson, following in the footsteps of Catherine Tate, Nigella Lawson, and more.
The UK’s points at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will be announced by the iconic Joanna Lumley, it has been revealed. The announcement was made by Eurovision commentator Graham Norton during an episode of “The One Show,” with Lumley expressing her delight and honour at being chosen for this role.
Lumley, known for her roles in “Absolutely Fabulous” and recent Netflix thriller “Fool Me Once,” will deliver the results of the UK’s national jury during the Grand Final on Saturday, May 11, live from Malmö, Sweden. She will reveal where the UK’s “douze points” will go, following in the footsteps of previous spokespeople including Catherine Tate, AJ Odudu, Amanda Holden, Nigella Lawson, Mel Giedroyc, and more.
A national icon, Lumley was made a Dame in 2022 for her services to drama, entertainment, and charity. Her turn as the outrageous Patsy Stone in “Absolutely Fabulous” has won her a multitude of fans worldwide, and Patsy is no stranger to Eurovision, having famously rubbed shoulders with UK Eurovision legend Lulu.
With the Grand Final just around the corner, viewers can expect a delightful and entertaining announcement of the UK’s points, delivered with Lumley’s signature flair and humour.
