Kangaroo Beach Season 2 Renewal from ABC Kids
It’s the Australian animated television series that has won the hearts of children all over the country. ABC, Screen Australia and Cheeky Little Media are thrilled to announce that preparation is underway for a second season of Kangaroo Beach.
The second series of Kangaroo Beach will continue to explore new water safety issues for pre-schoolers and their families while continuing to deliver more beach-based fun experiences with our four cadets, Pounce, Frizzy, Neville, and Gemma. Miranda Tapsell, an Australian actress, will also appear as a guest role in the show.
Since its premiere in 2020, the series has swiftly been a blockbuster hit with its young audience and their families, averaging 1.6 million views* each episode on broadcast TV and ABC iview, and winning the top #3 spot for most seen programme in 2021 (among both kids and adults’ series). This was on top of the 14.9 million views** on ABC iview in the previous year. A Summer Special will be released at the end of 2021, as well as consumer products such as a book series, children’s swimwear and clothes, bedding, and toys, which will be sold at major retailers and select independents.
Key partners onboard for Series 2 include, the ABC, the Australian Children’s Television Foundation and Surf Life Saving Australia. ACTF will also distribute the series. Cheeky Little Commercial continues as the global brand manager.
Cheeky Little’s Executive Producer Patrick Egerton said,
“We’re so happy to be heading into season 2 of Kangaroo Beach. Congratulations to the entire Cheeky Little team for making a wonderful show that resonates so strongly with kids and their families.
