Margot Robbie, James Mangold, and More to Present at 29th Annual Critics Choice Awards
The Critics Choice Association (CCA) has unveiled the impressive lineup of presenters for the highly anticipated 29th Annual Critics Choice Awards. Notable names such as Margot Robbie and James Mangold will take the stage to honor America Ferrera and Harrison Ford, respectively. Joining them are a star-studded cast of presenters including Abigail Spencer, Angela Bassett, Anthony Ramos, Oprah Winfrey, and many others.
The awards show, hosted by Chelsea Handler, is set to air live on The CW on Sunday, January 14, 2024. The Critics Choice Awards are known for being a reliable predictor of Academy Award nominations and are held annually to recognize outstanding achievements in film and television.
Leading the film contenders this year is “Barbie,” which received a record-breaking 18 nominations. The film is up for categories including Best Picture, Best Comedy, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay. Margot Robbie is nominated for Best Actress, Ryan Gosling for Best Supporting Actor, and America Ferrera for Best Supporting Actress. The film’s soundtrack also received three nominations for Best Song.
Other films in the running for Best Picture include “Oppenheimer” and “Poor Things,” both earning 13 nominations each, as well as “Killers of the Flower Moon” with 12 nominations. Rounding out the category are “American Fiction,” “Maestro,” “Past Lives,” “Saltburn,” “The Color Purple,” and “The Holdovers.”
In television, “The Morning Show” leads with six nominations, including Best Drama Series. Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon are both nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series. Billy Crudup received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
Following closely behind is “Succession” with five nominations overall. Other shows receiving multiple nods include “A Small Light,” “Abbott Elementary,” “Beef,” “Lessons In Chemistry,” “Loki,” “Reservation Dogs,” and “The Bear.”
The 29th Annual Critics Choice Awards show will be executive-produced by Bob Bain Productions and Berlin Entertainment. The awards are represented by Dan Black at Greenberg Traurig, LLP.
