Presenter Line Up for Eurovision Song Contest 2023 Announced by BBC
The all-star cast responsible for broadcasting the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest from Liverpool to the rest of the world has been revealed.
The Grand Final will be hosted by Eurovision legend Graham Norton, Ukrainian singer, composer, and frontwoman of the alternative band The HARDKISS Julia Sanina, Emmy Award-winning actress Hannah Waddingham, and singer-songwriter, pop star, and TV presenter Alesha Dixon, who will be broadcasting to an estimated global audience of 160 million on May 13.
Julia, Hannah, and Alesha, three musical superstars, will host the two live Semi-Finals (9 and 11 May) from Liverpool.
Timur Miroshnychenko, a Ukrainian broadcaster, will serve as the Eurovision Correspondent in Liverpool, appearing in VT inserts during the live broadcasts and providing commentary from Ukraine’s commentary box in the Liverpool Arena. He will co-host the Eurovision Song Contest’s official YouTube channel with fellow Liverpool native Sam Quek, who will be streaming the Opening Ceremony live.
In the commentary box for BBC One and BBC iPlayer’s Grand Final broadcast, Graham Norton and actress and comedian Mel Giedroyc will take turns offering their distinct perspectives on the 2023 performances for home viewers to enjoy.
Radio DJs and Eurovision experts Scott Mills and Rylan will deliver their colorful and informative analysis to UK fans as both Semi-Finals will air live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer for the first time in the UK’s Eurovision Song Contest history.
BBC Radio Merseyside will have a special commentary team for the contest, featuring Claire Sweeney and the winner of the talent search The Voice of Eurovision, which is now running to find new Scouse talent and bring the contest closer to people on Merseyside.
Kate Phillips, BBC’s Director of Unscripted, says: “The BBC is thrilled to have such a talented line-up bringing the Eurovision Song Contest from Liverpool – on behalf of Ukraine – to the world.
“One thing that truly unites us all is music, and we’re proud to have a team – who are well accustomed to the worlds of music, performing and live broadcasting – as part of our Eurovision presenting family.
“It will be a remarkable moment for the BBC to deliver two huge pinnacles in this year’s broadcasting calendar, the King’s Coronation and Eurovision, within the same week.”
The Grand and Semi Finals will be produced by BBC Studios.
