Paramount+ has announced the exclusive premiere of the three-part docuseries CTRL+ALT+DESIRE on the platform starting Tuesday, April 16. Director Colin Archdeacon’s extensive investigation into the disturbing murders that shocked a tranquil Florida town reveals the unsettling case of Grant Amato, a 29-year-old Floridian accused of brutally killing his family in a quest fueled by his fixation on a cam girl.

Unraveling Amato’s narrative, situated at the juncture of technology and isolation, CTRL+ALT+DESIRE delves into a harrowing saga of addiction, deception, and digital infatuation. Amato’s plunge into turmoil began with his immersion in the world of live-stream cam models, leading to an intense attachment to Silvie, a cam girl from Bulgaria. Through four years of recorded prison phone calls and a trail spanning Florida, Eastern Europe, and the deep web, the series unveils a profoundly intricate tale.

Despite his intelligence and charm, Amato defied the conventional image of a criminal, yet a series of setbacks pushed him towards depression, seclusion, and financial collapse. Striving to captivate Silvie’s attention, Amato assumed a new persona online as a ‘big spender,’ financed by $200,000 embezzled from his family in the months leading up to the horrific crimes. However, as his fixation deepened, his fabricated reality unraveled. CTRL+ALT+DESIRE serves as a compelling cautionary narrative, illustrating the perilous consequences of blurring the boundaries between fantasy and actuality.
