Netflix has announced the global premiere date for a new Colombian historical drama thriller series called The Hijacking of Flight 601 (Secuestro al vuelo 601). Inspired by a real-life event, the show revolves around the hijacking of a Colombian airliner on May 30, 1973, which is considered the longest aerial hijacking in Latin American history.

When negotiations fail to materialize, the hijackers begin shooting passengers at regular intervals while forcing the plane to fly across Latin America.
Amidst this terrifying ordeal, the captain and two brave flight attendants work diligently to outsmart the hijackers and engage with local officials. Determined to protect their passengers, they find themselves in a high-stakes battle for survival.
The Hijacking of Flight 601 will make its global debut on Wednesday, April 10, exclusively on Netflix.
