STRIFE: BINGE’s Record-Breaking Original Series Returns for Season 2
After a successful debut, the team behind the highly acclaimed series STRIFE is gearing up for its second season. The show, which became BINGE’s biggest original series premiere ever, has garnered widespread praise and a large audience following.
Produced by Made Up Stories, known for their work on shows like “Big Little Lies” and “Nine Perfect Strangers,” in partnership with FIFTH SEASON, STRIFE tells the story of Evelyn Jones (played by Asher Keddie), a modern woman and publisher who navigates her way through the world of women’s media. Inspired by Mia Freedman’s memoir “Work, Strife, Balance,” the series takes place in the fast-paced realm of publishing and digital media.
Starring alongside Keddie are a talented ensemble cast including Matt Day, Jonathan LaPaglia, Tina Bursill, Emma Lung, Alex Dimitriades, Maria Angelico, Rhys Mitchell, Olivia Junkeer, BeBe Bettencourt, Bryony Skillington, Lucy Ansell, Darcy Tadich, Lincoln Younes, and Willow Speers. The first season was directed by Stuart Bowen.
Alison Hurbert-Burns, Executive Director of BINGE and Foxtel Group Content and Commissioning expressed her excitement about STRIFE’s success: “STRIFE has resonated with our audiences as Evelyn’s journey strikes a chord with viewers across the country.” She also looks forward to seeing what the writers have in store for the upcoming season.
The executive producers from Made Up Stories – Bruna Papandrea, Jodi Matterson, and Steve Hutensky – expressed their gratitude for the positive response to STRIFE. They thanked BINGE for their support in bringing this story to Australian audiences and praised Asher Keddie’s portrayal of Evelyn Jones. They also commended Sarah Scheller and her writing team for their hard work on the series.
Prentiss Fraser, FIFTH SEASON’s President of TV Distribution, highlighted the show’s appeal, stating, “It’s no surprise STRIFE is capturing a huge audience so quickly – it’s brilliantly fresh, beautifully shot, and an authentic take on women juggling work, family, and relationships.” Fraser also commended the performances of Keddie and the rest of the cast.
STRIFE is commissioned by the Foxtel Group for BINGE and will also be available on Foxtel. The first season is currently streaming on BINGE.
