“Them: The Scare,” Prime Video Premiere, April 25, 2024

Get ready for the second installment of the horror anthology series Them: The Scare, as Prime Video sets a premiere date. This upcoming season, consisting of eight episodes, is set to premiere on Thursday, April 25, 2024, in over 240 countries and territories worldwide. And here’s the best part – all episodes will be available for streaming upon release.

Building on its predecessor’s success (the first installment called Covenant was set in Compton in 1952), THEM will once again take place in Los Angeles but with a new twist. Set in 1991, the story revolves around LAPD Homicide Detective Dawn Reeve who finds herself investigating a chilling case – the brutal murder of a foster home mother that has left even seasoned detectives shaken. As Dawn delves deeper into her investigation during a tumultuous time in Los Angeles filled with unrest, she becomes determined to apprehend the killer. However, as she gets closer to unraveling the truth behind the gruesome crime, something sinister begins to take hold of her and her family.

Creator, executive producer, and showrunner Little Marvin shared his excitement about combining horror with an exploration of Los Angeles’ rich history and transformation for this second installment. He said: “This second installment is a new story set in the ’90s, one of the most iconic decades for film, music, and fashion… I’m also excited about our amazing cast… We couldn’t have asked for a more fearless group to lead this second installment.”

The cast of Them: The Scare includes Deborah Ayorinde portraying “Detective Dawn Reeve,” Pam Grier playing “Athena,” Grammy-nominated musician and actor Luke James taking on the role of “Edmund Gaines.” Joining them are Joshua J. Williams, Jeremy Bobb, Wayne Knight, Carlito Olivero, Charles Brice, and Iman Shumpert.

Them: The Scare is a co-production between Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios. Little Marvin serves as the series’ creator, showrunner, and executive producer alongside Miri Yoon Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment and Steve Prinz. Prepare yourself for an eerie journey through the shadows of ’90s Los Angeles when Them: The Scare premieres on Prime Video this April.
