Young MasterChef returns for its second series, as nine of Britain’s finest young cooks embark on a culinary journey to showcase their skills and creativity. Michelin-trained social media influencer Poppy O’Toole reprises her role as judge, and she is joined by new judge, chef, author, and YouTube food star Big Has.

The culinary scene in Britain is buzzing, with young enthusiasts leading the way with innovative street dishes, pop-ups, and a strong following on social media platforms. The second series of Young MasterChef amplifies the excitement as these talented cooks take on new challenges in the high-pressure MasterChef kitchen.

In the premiere episode, the nine rookie cooks gather in East London, ready to prove themselves in the Young MasterChef kitchen. Facing two challenging tasks set by judges Poppy and Big Has, the stakes are high as failure to impress will result in elimination.

The first challenge requires the contestants to prepare their “number one” dish, a plate that reflects their personality, bursts with flavor, and leaves the judges hungry for more. The cooks hit the supermarket with limited funds, forcing them to be creative on a budget. Two standout dishes will grant immunity from elimination, adding an extra level of pressure to the task.

In the second challenge, the challenge level is raised as the young chefs are tasked with making the judges’ favourite dish—the ideal pasta dish. With Big Has showcasing his expertise by preparing delectable ricotta, parmesan, and black pepper ravioli in a sage butter sauce, the contestants must follow suit. Any mistakes, such as overcooked pasta or a watery sauce, could cost them their place in the competition.

After two cooks secure their safety in the competition, the judges will select two more contestants to face elimination. With this, the Young MasterChef journey officially begins for the remaining participants.
