Teen drama with a scifi twist The Nine Lives of Chloe King follows teenager Chloe who turns 16 and suddenly begins to develop heightened powers and special abilities. Somewhat shocked (as you would be) she also discovers that she is in fact part of an ancient race known as The Mai and that human assassins are now out to bring her down. She may be The Mai last best hope of survival!
Chloe is determined to find out more about where she comes from and also stay one step ahead of the assassins out to get her and hopefully persuade her two best friends Amy and Paul that she hasn’t changed all that much. More than that though she also discovers that two of her fellow students, Alek and Jasmine are also descendents of The Mai and are willing to serve as her protectors.
Based on the popular books by Liz Braswell the premise carries echoes of I Am Number Four amongst others but there is the hint of ancient Egyptian mythology in there too with the Mai suppposedly the offspring of Bastet and Egyptian goddess and thought of as protectors of human kind.
