Farmer’s Life For Me, A (BBC-2 2011, Jimmy Doherty)

A mix of reality and lifestyle is at the heart of A Farmer’s Life For Me which sees presenter Jimmy Doherty offering nine couples what has to be for many the absolute chance of a lifetime, giving up the rat race and running their own farm in Suffolk. From factory workers to city execs, they all share a passion for the outdoor life – but do they have what it takes to make it in farming?

In each episode, self-made pig farmer and friend of Jamie Oliver Jimmy Doherty introduces the couples to a different aspect of the business (everything from running a plot of land and making it pay to the art of tending livestock) and at the end of each episode one of the nine couples has to leave the project.

Agricultural expert David Finkle was on hand to offer his advice to the trainee farmers.
