Crocodile Shoes: The Deal (BBC-1 24 Nov 1994, with John Forgeham)

In The Deal Jed makes the big move to London with Ade promising him first class all the way only for him to tangle with Ade’s drug dealer friends almost immediately. Ade though does put his money where his mouth is and gives Jed a make over and arranges to have some professional demos recorded. Meanwhile Ade’s boss at Tomboy calls him in and tells him he knows all about his plan to sign Jed to a different company, Ade though has planned a little surprise of his own…

A great “Oz” moment at the start of the episode when Jed gives the druggy friends of Ade’s a hiding. Crocodile Shoes actually conforms to all the classic Rock on film cliches with drugs flying about everywhere, sex on tap and Jed well and truly having his eyes opened to all the goings on but it works superbly well. A good episode for James Wilby too as Ade really begins to start losing it.
