Escape From Jupiter (ABC 1994, Steve Bisley, Arthur Dignam)

Children’s scifi drama series Escape From Jupiter followed the inhabitants of a space colony who are forced to flee to Earth on a derelict space station.

The crux of the story featured five kids living on Io one of Jupiter’s 16 moons. Thanks to an inadvertent drilling operation which causes the moon to start to crumble causing the survivors to flee.

The series made ample use of computer generated graphics and was an Australia-Japan co-production. The show was screened first in the UK before making it’s Australian debut.
