Kate (ITV 1970-1972, Phyllis Calvert, Penelope Keith)

Drama series. Stories of Kate Graham, the agony aunt (Dear Monica) of Heart and Home magazine, who has a far from settled home life. When the series began Kate was recently widowed and had a teenage son. Her boss during the first couple of seasons was Donald Killearn who retired and was replaced Wenda Padbury.

Other key characters included Kate’s housekeeper Ellen, freelancer Bruce Rogers, features editor Lillian Coates. By the third and final season Kate had become Acting Editor of Heart and Home.
