Night Flight (BBC-1 2002, Christopher Plummer, Edward Woodward)

Night Flight was a powerful drama set in 1943 and the present telling the story of two World War II veterans. Harry Peters piloted a Lancaster bomber at just 20. His now middle-class world is thrown into disarray when former comrade Vic Green lands. A tale of secrets, scandal and corruption based on ghosts as yet not laid to rest.

Set in the present day and 1943. Both parts were shown on the same night with a 20-minute News bulletin in-between – although part one had no closing credits, part 2 started again with new opening titles and star actors’ names repeated – so most likely it was made as a 2-parter rather than a 1-parter simply broken up by the News (as films sometimes are).
