What is this episode about

The paramedics of West Midlands Ambulance Service have never been busier, and this series follows them for a full twelve hour shift. In this episode, an emergency call comes in for a man who is bleeding from both ears. The paramedics are puzzled as to how he sustained these wounds. A woman who recently underwent bowel surgery is experiencing severe blood loss and should be taken to the hospital immediately.

One of our patients is having trouble breathing, but she hasn’t told her husband because she didn’t want to worry him. Right now, she requires immediate assistance. Concerned parents fret over their eight-month-old child’s high temperature. Morphine is required just to get a patient to the hospital because the swelling in their legs is so excruciating. And the EMTs give a driver a stern talking-to for following too closely to their ambulance.
