The Jinx: Part Two continues its exploration of the life and crimes of Robert Durst with the third episode, “Saving My Tears Until It’s Official,” examining the final years of the notorious real estate heir and convicted murderer.
The six-part documentary series, directed by Andrew Jarecki, premiered on April 21, 2024, on HBO, and has stunned audiences with its in-depth examination of Durst’s life and his involvement in multiple mysterious deaths.
In the latest episode, viewers will be taken on a journey through the years following the shocking finale of the first season, where Durst was caught on a hot mic confessing to the murders. “Saving My Tears Until It’s Official” will uncover hidden material, including Durst’s prison calls and interviews with people who had never come forward before.
Robert Durst led a life shrouded in mystery and intrigue. Born in 1943, he was the eldest son of New York real estate magnate Seymour Durst and grew up in Scarsdale, New York. Durst’s life was marked by tragedy early on, with the suicide of his mother when he was seven years old. He claimed to have witnessed the incident, but this was later disputed by his brother, Douglas. Durst’s life took a darker turn in 1982 with the disappearance of his first wife, Kathleen McCormack. This was followed by the murder of his longtime friend, Susan Berman, in 2000, and the death and dismemberment of his neighbor, Morris Black, in 2001.
The first season of “The Jinx” chronicled these events, featuring interviews with Durst himself, along with family, friends, and police. It culminated in a shocking finale where Durst’s unguarded mutterings provided incriminating evidence. In the aftermath, Durst was arrested and put on trial for the murder of Susan Berman. He was also indicted in the disappearance of his first wife.
Now, “The Jinx: Part Two” picks up where the story left off, shedding light on the eight years between the original series and the present.
Airing on HBO, Sunday, May 5, at 10:00 PM ET/PT
