Britain’s Top Takeaways: Fried Chicken (Thurs 12 May on BBC Two)

Fried Chicken: Five of the nation’s top takeaways wing their way into Manchester to cook up finger-licking fabulous fried chicken dishes.

Competing tonight from London, married couple Alex and husband Martin, a former Olympian who serve their fried chicken in waffles; former nightclub DJ Mark, and head chef Helio, who run Shwings in Chelmsford; Nashville chicken-loving pals Dan and Luke who run Eat The Bird in Exeter; childhood sweethearts Charlotte and Frank, who own Leicester’s first vegan fried chicken shop; and finally, ‘King Of The Wings’ Chris and Lilly, who run award-winning Chicken George in Hitchin.

Judging the fried chicken and deciding who wins will be a host of ordinary takeaway loving families who will eat, rate and score the food from the comfort of their own homes; and guest judges, Manchester Village Spartans Rugby Club.

But who will the families decide is their top fried chicken takeaway?
