First Dates: Episode 2 (S19EP2 Channel 4 Thursday 28 July 2022)

First into the restaurant is 36-year-old, larger-than-life stand-up comedian Mani. Despite his confidence on stage, he’s yet to find a strong, independent Pakistani Muslim woman he can settle down with off stage. His match is 30-year-old nursing home owner Natasha, whose quick wit and dry sense of humour are sure to give Mani a run for his money. But with both daters using their humour to mask the hard times they have experienced, the date could be facing an early curtain call.

Next into the restaurant is 29-year-old hairdresser Scott, who has a history of relationships being cut short. He’s been matched with gentle giant and self-confessed Nintendo geek Lewis, who wonders if his love of computer games is the thing that’s keeping him single. Will it be game over for this date once Lewis reveals how big of a console fan he really is?

Beautician Natalie, who’s 47, is feeling ready to date for the first time since the death of her partner, but living in a small village in North Wales has meant she’s struggled to find an eligible man. To her surprise, she has been matched with fellow North Walian Hywel who, despite having friends in common, she has never met. Hywel is a bodybuilding champion and comes with the positive attitude and biceps that Natalie has been looking for.

Last in is 23-year-old Oris, who has a masters degree in cognitive neuroscience and would like to meet a man who loves science as much as she does! Enter 28-year-old science teacher Tom, whose repertoire of science jokes has failed to impress former love interests. Could this be the chemistry that Oris has been looking for?
