Troppo Episode 2 (S1EP2 ABC TV Sunday 6 March 2022)
Ted (Thomas Jane) and Amanda (Nicole Chamoun) attend a Dellagua launch for investors, intrigued to see the company make no mention of their missing lead engineer. In fact, both the CEO Roy (Damien Garvey), and his Head of R&D Olivia (Kate Beahan) are full of positivity.
When questioned by Ted and Amanda, Olivia refuses to answer any of their questions, except to confirm Jong Min (Sonny Le) did not go to the Dellagua office on the night he disappeared. She visits Yoon Sun (Sun Park) to retrieve any company property Jong Min had that hasn’t been taken by the police. After searching his office, Olivia finds two hard drives. She tries to access the devices on her laptop, but they’re heavily encrypted.
Utilising social media, Amanda sights a vehicle that looks like Park’s. She instructs Ted to head out onto the river to find it, giving him a chance to interrogate Charlie. The car is indeed Park’s – it has been run into a ditch and abandoned. There is no sign of a body. The words ‘I’m sorry’ are written on the back window in Korean script.
Believing there is a link between the two deaths, Amanda returns to the mystery shed to find it has been cleared out. But back at the Hansen property she discovers an intriguing clue on the collar of Lars’ dog.
Ted realises Val (Angela Punch McGregor) the police medical officer, has not only recognised him but believes he is innocent. He is relieved to find an ally. She tells him she thinks suicide by crocodile is bullshit. Val isn’t happy he’s working with Amanda – she did the autopsy on her victim, a classmate, who Amanda stabbed twelve times. Ted is stunned.
