The Traitors Series 2: Meet Jaz
In the brand new season of the all conquering reality competition show, “The Traitors,” viewers can expect a rollercoaster of emotions and intense gameplay. One of the contestants, Jaz, a 30-year-old National Account Manager from Manchester, reveals that it was his in-laws who introduced him to the show, saying, “We watched it, looked at each other and said, ‘This is just amazing.’” Intrigued by the game’s unique format and captivated by the exciting twists and turns, Jaz felt a deep connection to the show, which he believes has come at the perfect time in his life.
When asked about his game plan, Jaz shares his intention to adopt the mindset of a Faithful if he becomes a Traitor, saying, “So, people can see my body language, they can see my eye contact, they can see everything about me and go ‘This guy is a Faithful. So, there’s no point even questioning him.’ And that’s it, just take them out one by one.” He plans to utilize pure energy and enthusiasm to make his mark in the game, stating, “Not to sound cocky or obnoxious, because I would like to consider myself quite humble, but I’ve been very fortunate to achieve certain accolades and things in my life, but nothing, apart from the missus and my wedding day, has meant more to me than this.”
In terms of the missions, Jaz believes in his ability to perform well, particularly in physical challenges. He confidently asserts, “I go to the gym, I play football twice a week and I do other sports as well, all sorts.” While acknowledging that mental tasks may pose more of a challenge, he plans to give his all and rely on his physical fitness to assist him.
Expressing his excitement at the prospect of being chosen as a Traitor, Jaz exclaims, “Absolutely buzzing. I’m ready to be one, it’s just perfect. I feel like I’ll be able to play it well.” He emphasizes his commitment to go all the way in the game, stating, “All the way, without a shadow of a doubt. The thing is everyone wants the money, for all sorts of different reasons, so that’s just going to cloud my vision if I start to get emotionally involved in everyone’s story and then I’m going to be torn between all the other players. But for me, I want to go all the way. The last man standing.”
Although Jaz admits to being terrible at spotting a liar, he suggests that he might excel at it given his familiarity with someone’s personality over time. He believes that subtle cues, particularly in the eyes, can betray the truth behind someone’s words.
Considering the qualities needed to make it through to the final as a Faithful, Jaz highlights the importance of being a team player and forming alliances. He draws from the previous season, mentioning Wilfred, who successfully formed a group of influential individuals. Jaz believes in the power of creating a tight-knit clique and aligning with those who hold importance within the group.
If Jaz were to win the prize money, he envisions using it for a special experience with his loved ones. He expresses his desire to fulfill a long-standing wish of his mother’s by taking her on the Orient Express. Jaz also recognises the incredible support he has received from his wife, as well as his mother and father-in-law, and feels they deserve to be included in the celebratory experience.
As “The Traitors” returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer with its thrilling new season, audiences can look forward to Jaz’s energy, determination, and commitment to making the most of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Whether he emerges as a Faithful or a Traitor, Jaz’s genuine enthusiasm and focus promise to make him a compelling and memorable player in this gripping reality competition.
